Join Vancouver’s best comedic performers at the Rio Theatre for your favorite #DNDLive improv night inspired by the world’s most popular role-playing game. As always, our intrepid performers will venture on a quest for comic glory (and snacks!) in a live, hilariously improvised spectacular – an adventure saga that has been running continuously since 2012.
Spanning over 100 live performances in both Canada and the United States, two years of “at-home” streaming, and frequent festival appearances, The Critical Hit Show is one of the longest running comedy shows around. #DNDLive is an improvised adventure that takes its inspiration from tabletop role-playing games, fantasy film and TV, and (most importantly) you!

SECRETS FOR STRANGERS – Comedy NOT for Friends & Family. April 23, 2025
The Critical Hit Show’s Ian Boothby and Eric Fell present a night of mostly true stories best served to strangers. Friends and family are permitted but with no follow up questions allowed.
The Gentlemen Hecklers provide Hilarious Live Commentary for The Best Bad Movies! Vancouver’s masters of movie riffing, they played to packed houses at Vancouver’s legendary Rio Theatre from 2012 to 2020, with a hugely successful reunion special in 2022.
